Citilink Indonesia started operating ATR 72-600s on three routes from Medan on 8 February, replacing parent company Garuda Indonesia.

The budget carrier is now operating daily service from Medan to Gunungsitoli and Sibolga, and a thrice-weekly service to Lhokseumawe.

FlightGlobal schedules data shows that Citilink competes with Lion Air Group carrier Wings Air on the three routes.

At the start of February, Garuda disclosed that it had sub-leased two of its ATR 72s to Citilink. They were transferred on 26 January, and entered service three days later.

Garuda continues to operate 15 ATR 72s out of Denpasar, Surabaya, Palembang, Makassar, Ambon, and Nabire.
