The nose section for the first C919 prototype is expected to be delivered to Comac's final assembly centre on 15 October.

This is the third major C919 structure to be delivered to Comac. The section rolled off Chengdu Aircraft's production line in July.

Comac last month started final assembly of its first C919, with the joining of the aircraft's forward and mid fuselage sections. The Chinese airframer is working towards an end 2015 first flight target for the aircraft.

Comac has thus far received commitments for 400 of the narrowbodies, mostly from Chinese airlines and leasing companies.
