Aircraft interiors specialist Contour Aircraft Seating continues to grow its customer base with the addition of new contracts for both business- and first-class seats, as well as premium economy-class seats.

UK-based Contour says Air China has placed an order for first-class seats on 15 Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The so-called 'Venus' seating product will be tailored to the airline's corporate identity.

Contour has also been awarded a contract from Air China to manufacture its 'Aura Lite' business-class product for installation on 26 Airbus A330-200s, 10 of which are new and 16 which will be retrofitted.

"Contour is delighted to be working with Air China again and to be involved in this rapidly developing area of the world," says Bob Lovell, technical sales director. "We look forward to a long term relationship with Air China."

Air New Zealand, meanwhile, has ordered new premium economy seats - dubbed Spaceseats - for installation on its 777-300ERs. Two options are available in the Spaceseats product, including an angled double seat for couples traveling together or a single seat.

Lovell says these innovative seats "take premium economy travel to a new level of experience for passengers" and will set direction for the future of economy seating.

Also, Contour has inked a deal with Delta Air Lines for a repeat order of its 'Vantage' BusinessElite product, which will be installed on Boeing 767-400 and 300ER aircraft, for a combined total of 66 shipsets.

Each seat has direct aisle access, with bed length of 78" on standard seats and 83" on the outboard window seats.
