Delta Air Lines is preparing to launch flights from Memphis, Tennessee to Evansville, Indiana and Amarillo, Texas in the second quarter of this year.

Delta Connection partner Pinnacle Airlines will operate the new service, starting with a once daily Evansville flight on 6 April.

Amarillo service follows on 10 June, and Pinnacle will place 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft on both routes.

"Operationally our Memphis hub has been one of our highest performing hubs and with the overwhelming community support it is perfectly positioned for this additional service," Delta executive vice president of network planning and revenue management Glen Hauenstein says in a statement.

No carrier currently connects Memphis with Evansville and Amarillo, according to schedules in Innovata.
