Doha's new Hamad international airport appears set to open at the end of this month, according to NOTAM information.

NOTAM data issued by the Qatari authorities on 10 April states that the airport "will be operational" from 04:00UTC on 30 April.

But the opening seems to be part of a phased introduction. The NOTAM states that only runway 16L/34R will be in service.

It warns pilots to "exercise caution" to avoid confusing this active runway with the non-operational runway 16R/34L.

Qatar's civil aviation authority has yet to confirm that the airport will open at this time.
