Hong Kong's Dragonair has appointed Patrick Yeung as its new chief executive, effective 16 August.

He succeeds James Tong, who has been at the helm for two years.

Yeung is director, general manager and chief representative at John Swire & Sons China.

Through Swire he has worked with Dragonair parent company Cathay Pacific Group in the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. He has also served as managing director of Cathay Holidays.
