Republic Airways has signed an 18-year agreement, valued at $3.9 billion, for CFM International to support 172 Leap-1A engines. Republic's $2 billion Leap-1A order was announced at Paris air show and finalised in Dubai. The engines will power 20 A319neo and 60 A320neo aircraft. Republic is the parent company of US-based Frontier Airlines.

GKN Aerospace continues to advance development of its 1MW hydrogen-electric powertrain under its H2GEAR programme but progress has been slower than hoped due to issues with the supply chain for its cryogenic electric motor.
