Piper Aviation has filled a gap in its European training infrastructure for PA-46-based aircraft while the Florida-based manufacturer nears a selection of the training provider for the newly-launched M600.
Piper announced on 19 May that OK Aviation Group will be the company’s first authorised training facility in Europe for PA-46-based products.
The Czech Republic training services specialist already operates the only European Aviation Safety Agency-approved Level 2 flight training device for the M500, formerly branded as the Piper Meridian.
That device was manufactured by the former Mechtronix, which has been acquired by Textron subsidiary TRU Simulation.
Piper has been steadily expanding its training services beyond Simcom in Orlando, Florida, says Piper director of marketing and communications Jackie Carlon. Selecting OK Aviation in the Czech Republic provides a central location for Piper operators seeking training from Eastern and Western Europe, she says.
Meanwhile, the company is about to close a request for proposals for a training provider for the M600, the $2.82, 600hp aircraft formally launched on 13 April, Carlon says.
“We have a number of bidders,” she says.
