Embraer has secured Federal Aviation Administration approval for its service centre in Sorocaba, São Paulo, paving the way for the company-owned facility to perform maintenance and support services on N-registered business jets across the airframer’s portfolio.

The 20,000(216,000ft²) centre - which can house up to 40 aircraft simultaneously - has already secured European and Brazilian approval.

Embraer has two company-owned service centres in Brazil – the other is based at its São José dos Campos headquarters – and four authorised facilities. “They service our 200-strong South American business jet fleet,” the airframer says.

Embraer launched its Executive Jets division 11 years ago and last month delivered its 1,000th unit – a Legacy 500 – to US fractional ownership company, Flexjet.
