Embraer subsidiary ECC Leasing is in discussions for the sale or lease of four used Embraer ERJ-145 family aircraft.
Agreements are expected to close by the end of 2009, Embraer regional manager for asset management North America Luciano Froes told ATI during Flightglobal's US Valuation Conference in Washington today.
The aircraft are exiting North American markets, and are scheduled to transition to Latin America and other secondary markets, he says.
In addition to commercial airline leasing transactions, ECC Leasing has converted three ERJ-135s previously flown by Republic Airways Holdings subsidiary Chautauqua Airlines into 16-seat corporate shuttle aircraft.
After the conversions were completed at Embraer's service center in Nashville, Tennessee, two of the three ERJ-135s were placed in operation in Brazil, Froes says.
Froes believes demands exists for both corporate coversions of Embraer's smaller jets and commercial service in secondary markets.
ECC is leasing is leasing two other ex-Chautauqua ERJ-135s to startup Angolan carrier SEAA, which intends to use the aircraft on domestic services from its Lubango base.
