A brand-new Etihad Airways Airbus A340-600 suffered major damage and five people were seriously injured after the aircraft jumped chocks during ground testing and slammed through a blast deflection wall in Toulouse. The accident, which happened at the company's Saint-Martin site on 15 November, involved A340-600 MSN856, which was carrying out ground run-ups of its Rolls-Royce Trent 500 engines ahead of delivery to Etihad. Airbus and Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies staff were on board at the time of the accident.
