BAE Systems, Elettronica and Indra have been awarded a production contract for Eurofighter's Defensive Aids Sub-System (DASS).

DASS comprises a highly integrated suite of threat-warning receivers, jammers and countermeasures dispensers.

The £300 million contract is for equipment to be fitted to 103 aircraft, representing the first tranche of Eurofighters for Britain, Italy and Spain. Germany initially opted out of the DASS programme as a cost-saving measure but is expected to rejoin.
