A week before the International Civil Aviation Organisation resolution that medically fit commercial passenger transport commanders may fly until age 65 - an increase from 60 - becomes effective, the US Federal Aviation Administration will receive a report intended to enable it to decide whether it will adopt the new ICAO standard for pilots flying US-registered aircraft. The FAA should be in a position to decide on 23 November.

Dutch investigators probing the fatal crash of a Blackshape Aircraft BK 160 are trying to determine whether external burn marks arose from an in-flight or post-impact fire.
