Aircraft lessor CIT Group has become the second customer for the re-engined Airbus A330 after today disclosing at the Farnborough air show a memorandum of understanding that covers 15 A330-900neos.

The MoU also includes five current-generation A321s. CIT will make its engine selection for the narrowbodies at a later date.

“These new aircraft will allow CIT to maintain one of the youngest and most technologically advanced fleets in the industry, while providing fuel-efficient aircraft solutions to our customers through a range of sizes and categories of aircraft," says Jeff Knittel, president of CIT Transportation International Finance.

Airbus launched its re-engined A330 family at the start of the Farnborough air show, and lessor Air Lease signed an MoU for 25 -900s yesterday. The Rolls-Royce Trent 700-powered A330neos are scheduled for delivery in the last quarter of 2017.
