Iberia Airlines has chosen Rockwell Collins' avionics for communication, surveillance and navigation for 16 new Airbus A330s and 17 Airbus A340s. The deal includes the SwiftBroadband satellite communications system for in-flight connectivity.

Iberia will also use Rockwell Collins' Fly Smart with Airbus system for its A330s. The system manages electronic documents such as charts, logbooks and cabin manuals and links aircraft with ground-based networks.

The operator expects to receive the new A330s in 2013.
