THE FR Aviation, Bristow, Serco (FBS) team has won a ú400 million ($625 million) contract to run the ab initio helicopter flying training for the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the next 15 years. Shorts and Bond teamed with Hunting were also competing for the business.

The MoD is centralising the three services' helicopter flying training at RAF Shawbury, at the same time as it contracts out its training needs.

FBS will replace the MoD Gazelle and Westland Wessex helicopters with Eurocopter AS350 Squirrels and Bell 412s.
