Chilean airline group LAN has unveiled the first six destinations for its Boeing 787 aircraft, which will be delivered in late 2012.

The oneworld carrier will operate the aircraft to Santiago, Buenos Aires, Lima, Los Angeles, Madrid and Frankfurt, says the airline today at the FIDAE 2012 air show in Santiago.

LAN's first 787-8 will be delivered in late 2012 and it expects to receive 32 in the first 10 years, including 10 larger 787-9s. The 787-8 aircraft will be configured with 217 economy class seats and 30 premium business class seats.

The carrier says the six destinations will be gradually integrated in the aircraft's first year of service.

"We are proud to be the first in the region to operate it, as this aircraft incorporates substantial benefits to our passengers, besides it being a highly efficient aircraft in every way," says LAN COO Ignacio Cueto.
