Commercial aircraft net orders came in at 316 for December 2011. There were no cancellation during the month.
In the highlight of the month, Southwest Airlines ordered 208 737s. Federal Express ordered 27 767s while China Aircraft Leasing Company ordered 20 COMACC919. Etihad Airways ordered 10 787s.
Boeing totalled 284 new orders in December while COMAC received 20 and ATR 12.
In the narrowbody market, 212 737s and 20 COMAC C919s were placed. The widebody orders in the month were 39 for 787s, 27 for 767s and six for 777s. In the regional sector, the orders were for eight ATR72s and four ATR42s.
Overall, the order backlog for airliners ended December at 9,522, up 205 on the previous month.
