This year’s Farnborough air show opened with soaring temperatures and the heat on Airbus to convince customers and shareholders that it has a plan to get the ailing airframer back on track.

Flight TV was there to record the big stories of the first day, including the first appearance of new Airbus chief executive Christian Streiff, just two weeks into his new job, and the air show debut of the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey tiltrotor. Click here to view.

We also have the highlights of the flying display, with the Russian MiG-29 wowing the crowds with its acrobatic manoeuvres and the A380 taking to the skies over Farnborough for the first time.

We’ll be on air throughout the show, broadcasting each evening.
