Budget carrier FlyDubai is continuing its drive into the CIS market with two further routes due to start in September 2011.

The airline will begin weekly services to the Russian cities of Kazan on 14 September and Ufa three days later.

Both cities have extensive petrochemical, energy and engineering interests. "Our new flights...directly connect Dubai to two economic and industrial power centres in Russia for the first time, while also helping to showcase Dubai as a business and leisure destination to the important Russian and larger CIS markets," said FlyDubai chief executive Ghaith Al Ghaith.

In recent months the carrier has announced a series of new routes to CIS destinations, including Samara in Russia and Kiev, Donetsk and Kharkov in Ukraine.

It will operate the latest routes with Boeing 737-800s.
