Greek VIP charter and management provider GainJet Aviation has established a base in the Republic of Ireland, to exploit the growing demand for transatlantic services.
The Athens-headquartered company received an air operator's certificate (AOC) from the Irish Aviation Authority in June, and is to base a Bombardier Challenger 604 – registration EI-KMA – at its new site at Shannon airport.
Situated in the west of Ireland, Shannon is one of only a handful of airports outside the USA that is able to provide inbound customs and immigration pre-clearance for business jets and crews.
“GainJet Ireland was established with a particular mission in mind,” says chief executive Dimitris Kehayas. “To expand [our] coverage of Europe and the West, while also supporting its current operations.”
GainJet has a fleet of nine aircraft, also including a Boeing 757-200, 737-400, Gulfstream G650, G550 and G450.
