Garuda Indonesia plans to begin flights to London or Frankfurt next summer, as the airline continues on a plan to resume operations to Europe.
The airline began flights to Amsterdam in June, six years after it withdrew from the European market.
"We will open another city next summer. It's likely to be London or Frankfurt," says the carrier's president and CEO Emirsyah Satar. Apart from these cities, Garuda eventually plans to fly to Paris and Rome as well.
The airline is looking into the plans carefully due to the weak European economy, says Satar. But he adds that its service to Amsterdam has done well since it started with over 80% passenger load factors.
