German carrier Germania is intending to start introducing Airbus A319s into its fleet, as part of a broad replacement programme.
Berlin-based Germania's holding company, SAT, has signed a tentative agreement to take five A319s.
The airline operates around 15 Boeing 737s, some of which are wet-leased to other carriers.
Airbus says that Germania plans a "complete fleet rollover" to the A319.
Initial deliveries are scheduled for April 2011, if the agreement is firmed. The five A319s covered by the memorandum of understanding will be powered by CFM International CFM56 engines.
