Gulf Air has signed a 10-year maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) agreement with GE Aviation after selecting CFM International CFM56-5B engines for 15 Airbus A320s the carrier ordered last year.
The OnPoint contract covering 15 engines is valued at more than $100 million.
Bahrain-based Gulf Air ordered the aircraft, along with 20 A330s, at the 2008 Berlin Air Show.
ATI sister publication Commercial Aviation Online (CAO) understands that the first A320 will be delivered in September, and another three will join the fleet throughout by year-end 2009.
Gulf Air chief executive Bjorn Naf has previously said another six aircraft would be delivered in the first half of 2010.
Deliveries will continue through 2013.
