Lm² is a "control method", not software, and it is the result of reworking the motion mathematics, says Sabena Flight Academy development director Filip Van Biervliet. The company reviewed the algorithms that determine FFS six-degrees-of-freedom motion systems and has developed a solution to modify logic that produces physiologically misleading cues. It introduces concepts not now employed in motion systems to overcome a simulator's limited range of motion. The actuation system - whether hydraulic or electrically driven - is irrelevant, says Van Biervliet.
