Iberia will next month begin flights from Barcelona to Miami.

The carrier will launch the service on 29 March. It also plans to bolster its frequencies from Madrid to Boston, Chicago and New York.

As previously announced, the Spanish carrier as part of its new transatlantic joint venture with British Airways and American Airlines is to also start a nonstop service between Madrid and Los Angeles.

Iberia will operate the route thrice-weekly from 28 March, increasing to four times a week between July and September, says the Oneworld carrier.

It will serve the route using Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
