Icelandair has entered a broad partnership agreement with Star Alliance's SAS Group which includes codesharing on several routes out of Copenhagen and Stockholm.

The agreement comes into effect on 8 November, says SAS Group.

Its codeshare will cover routes from the two Scandinavian capitals to Berlin, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Milan, Munich, Vilnius, Zurich and Warsaw.

SAS says it will provide "smoother connections" between northern Europe and Iceland. The partnership will include reciprocal frequent-flyer benefits from early 2011.
