The administrator attempting to secure the future of insolvent German general aviation powerplant manufacturer Thielert Aircraft Engines has recruited industry veteran Dr Günter Kappler to support his efforts to secure new capital.

Administrator Dr Bruno Kübler says the move sends "a clear signal for customers and investors", and describes Kappler as "a competent partner for prospective investors" during forthcoming negotiations. Kappler has held senior engineering and management positions at companies including Rolls-Royce Deutschland, Fairchild Dornier and Europrop International. Kappler says he is "confident that together we will work out a solid prospect for the future of Thielert".
