Identifying a need in the market for high-density business class seats EADS Sogerma has rolled out a seat that reclines to a fully-flat position but at a pitch of just 58in to 60in.
The so-called Equinox seat, which was developed in conjunction with JCE Design and the EADS Sogerma design team, offers a traditional cabin configuration of 2-2-2 or 2-3-2 in widebody aircraft.
"The development of Equinox was driven by the need to return a higher yield in the business class cabin whilst maintaining the requirement of a fully lie flat seat, no compromise," says EADS Sogerma.
Speaking to Flight Daily News, EADS Sogerna's newly-appointed president and CEO Jean-Michel Leonard said the firm is "in discussion with customers and expects to finalise sales quickly" for Equinox.
Separately, Leonard is focused on continued growth for EADS Sogerma, saying his intent is "to double business in the next three to four years".
