Noble Tek has introduced an Apple iPad application for MRO staff. The software is integrated into the maintenance planning system of the aircraft operator or MRO provider. Technicians receive their job tickets via the iPads and have access to documentation such as repair manuals as well as two and three dimensional illustrations.

They are also able to order spare parts and automatically file reports on the progress of the maintenance job. The main advantage is that all instructions and other information is up-to-date and represents the latest revision status, says managing director Rudolf Kalkert.

This will reduce sources for potential mistakes, he adds. The company aims that the app, which can be combined with a range of MRO planning software, can improve turnaround for certain maintenance processes by up to 25%.
