Iranian investigators indicate that they have succeeded in obtaining flight-recorder information from the HESA IrAn-140 which crashed in Tehran last month.

The Iranian Civil Aviation Organisation says that delegates to the latest investigative committee meeting were informed that, despite damage to the recorders, information has been obtained for analysis.

It states that the inquiry will carry out fatigue testing and metallurgical studies as part of the probe into the fatal loss.

The committee has also examined witness accounts and details on the aircraft’s systems, but it has not disclosed any initial conclusions.

Nine of the 48 occupants of the Sepahan Airlines flight survived the accident on 10 August.
