Canadian regional carrier Jazz Air has signed a letter of intent with Bombardier for 15 74-seat NextGen Q400 turbroprops.
Air Canada's regional partner also plans to take options on 15 additional aircraft once the order is finalised.
Jazz says deliveries are scheduled to begin in May 2011.

The carrier says the first 15 Q400s will replace 15 50-seat regional jets. Flightglobal's ACAS fleet database shows Jazz operates a total of 57 50-seat CRJ100/200 aircraft. The carrier also flies 16 CRJ705s, 36 Dash 8 Q100 turboprops and 28 Dash Q300s.
"Jazz's extensive route network spans North America; the Q400 NextGen provides the right economics and seat capacity to efficiently serve our many niche markets that include short to medium length routes," says Jazz CEO Joseph Randell.
The carrier's interest in the Q400 dates back to late 2007 when Randell said the aircraft remained interesting to Jazz, and would have appeal to the carrier in the future.
