Jet Airways is to acquire rival Air Sahara in the first airline consolidation deal to hit the fast-changing Indian market.
Jet and Air Sahara are India’s largest privately owned airlines with domestic market shares estimated at around 40% and just over 10%, respectively.
Jet will eventually absorb Air Sahara’s aircraft, airport facilities and technical crews, after which the Air Sahara name will disappear.
