Emirates has become the seventh interline partner for JetBlue, creating access to numerous US cities from Dubai, and allowing JetBlue's customers new connections to an array of Emirates destinations from its Dubai hub.
In a statement the carriers explain joint itineraries should be available soon through global distribution systems, which will allow for the booking of a single combined ticket and one-stop check-in and baggage transfer between the airlines.
Emirates offers two daily nonstop flights from Dubai to JetBlue's hub at John F Kennedy International airport in New York with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and the Airbus A380.
JetBlue says Emirates will offer its customers from Boston, Chicago, Orlando and Washington "new access to an impressive array of onward destinations" that include, Auckland, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Nairobi, Singapore and Sydney. Customers also have new access to ten cities in India and the islands of Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles.
JetBlue's other interline partners include Aer Lingus, American, Cape Air, El Al, Lufthansa and South African Airways. The carrier also has a one-way codeshare with Lufthansa in some markets.
During JetBlue's third quarter earnings call the carrier's management hinted that the airline's seventh interline partner would be named soon.
