Kuwait's parliament has instructed the country's audit bureau to investigate Kuwait Airways to see whether corruption is a factor in the state carrier's accumulated losses. The move came as MPs approved the airline's budget for the financial year that began in April. The budget envisages a deficit of $144 million for the year, with accumulated losses already totalling around $500 million. Parliament asked the audit bureau to submit a report within six months indicating whether the losses were caused by "fiscal and administrative misdeeds, or bribery and the payment of commissions".
