Irish maintenance firm Shannon Aerospace is undergoing a restructuring programme after the division came under new management.
The Lufthansa Technik unit has reached agreement with workers represented by the SIPTU union.
It follows the appointment of Thomas Ruckert - formerly the head of Lufthansa Technik's Berlin maintenance centre - to head Shannon Aerospace from August this year, succeeding Martin Kaiser.
Shannon Aerospace employees voted in favour of the restructuring plan following consultation under the Irish Labour Relations Commission.
"With a robust cost structure, new working practices, a deep pool of experienced aviation professionals and our first-class facility in Shannon, I am in no doubt that we can move the company forward, to secure our position as a world leader in the provision of airframe maintenance services and as a key player in the future of the Irish aviation industry," says Ruckert.
The business plan aims to "safeguard the maximum number of jobs" at the company, he adds.
When Ruckert was appointed, Lufthansa Technik said Shannon Aerospace employed around 750 staff. But its statement on the restructuring says the company will have around 540 from January 2011.
