Caribbean carrier Liat says one of its Bombardier Q300 aircraft returned to Maurice Bishop International Airport in Grenada this morning as a precautionary measure.

Flight number LI 303 with 44 passengers onboard was in the process of climbing to the required altitude when the pilots observed an engine low pressure oil indication in the cockpit.

The carrier says the captain performed a precautionary engine shutdown and returned to Grenada for landing.

Liat says the aircraft is being examined by the company's maintenance staff to diagnose and rectify the problem.
