Lockheed Martin attached the Boeing-supplied wing to the fuselage of the first F-22 in late November. The wing, flown from Seattle to the Marietta, Georgia, final-assembly line, proved to be a "slip fit", says Lockheed Martin. The empennage and engine inlets remain to be installed and the aircraft is expected to stand on its landing gear in December. First flight is scheduled for 28 May, 1997.
