Lufthansa will launch a new seasonal flight between Munich and Miami in December, complementing its existing service to the south Florida city from Frankfurt.

The Star Alliance carrier will operate the route five-times weekly during winter months on a 217-seat Airbus A330-300, it says.

“We are delighted to be able to offer our passengers our latest product in all classes on flights to and from Miami, so that they can enjoy a high level of travel comfort,” says Thomas Klühr, a member of the Lufthansa German Airlines board responsible for finance and the Munich hub, in a statement.

Lufthansa already serves Miami from Frankfurt with an Airbus A380.

No other carriers fly between Munich and Miami, Innovata schedules show.
