Lufthansa Technik is now the sole owner of large used aircraft parts supplier AirLiance after forming the joint venture with United Airlines and Air Canada 14 years ago.

Lufthansa's MRO arm has taken over the shares in AirLiance owned by the two Star Alliance partners, which were minority owners in the venture.

As part of the transition long-time AirLiance CEO David Sisson is retiring and chief operating officer Roscoe Musselwhite will take the helm of the company.

In a statement Lufthansa Technik highlighted the success of US-based AirLiance, noting the company has reliably achieved its revenues and results targets.

Lufthansa Technik believes the additional financial and strategic commitment it is supplying to AirLiance will allow the company "to expand its worldwide service portfolio even further".
