Lufthansa's fifth Airbus A380 destination will be San Francisco.

The German carrier will begin daily A380 flights between Frankfurt and San Francisco on 10 May, replacing its existing Boeing 747-400 service on the route.

Lufthansa already serves Tokyo, Beijing and Johannesburg with A380s, and will add New York JFK to the list on 18 February.

It will be the first airline to operate A380 flights to San Francisco.

Lufthansa's A380s are configured with 526 seats, including eight in first class, 98 in business class and 420 economy class seats.
