Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has appointed Ahmad Jauhari Yahya as its managing director.

He succeeds Tengku Azmil Zahruddin, who left the carrier in August, said MAS.

Before his appointment to MAS, Ahmad Jauhari was CEO of Premium Renewable Energy and is a non-independent, non-executive director at Malaysia Airport Holdings.

Mohammad Rashdan bin Mohd Yusof, who chaired an executive committee to run the carrier until Ahmad Jauhari's appointment, will remain as MAS's executive director, reporting to Ahmad Jauhari.
