A Fairchild Metroliner operated on behalf of Manx2 has crashed at Cork Airport in Ireland and there are reports of fatalities.

A spokesman for the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) says there were 10 passengers and two crew members on board the aircraft, but he says he cannot confirm reports that eight people have been killed.

The IAA says the aircraft made an approach to Runway 17 in low visibility conditions and did two go-arounds before crashing adjacent to Taxiway C.

Fire and debris have been "scattered on to the runway and over a wide area", says the IAA.
