Vedder Price partner Dean Gerber is to join lessor Orix Aviation as general counsel in April 2019.
Gerber has experience in structured finance, operating leasing, mortgage and synthetic lease financings, cross-border leasing, leveraged leasing, and bankruptcy and restructuring, Vedder Price's website indicates.
"Dean possesses tremendous legal and aviation business knowledge and experience that will be a great asset to our company in his new role as general counsel," states Orix Aviation chief executive James Meyler.
The leasing company, a subsidiary of Japan's Orix Corporation, says it has $10 billion of aircraft assets under management and has bought, sold or leased over 100 aircraft over the last 12 months.
In November, Orix completed the acquisition of a 30% minority stake in Avolon.
