Philippine Airlines (PAL) will start flying non-stop between Manila and Auckland from 6 December, using Airbus A340s.

With the launch of the thrice-weekly direct service, the carrier will also cease its Airbus A320-operated Manila-Cairns-Auckland service. The change in aircraft type will also raise its capacity on the route by 60%, says the Philippine flag carrier.

FlightGlobal schedules data shows that PAL will be the only operator between Manila and Auckland.
