Brazilian carrier Azul has taken delivery of its first ATR 72-600, the first of an order for 30 aircraft, with 10 options.

David Neeleman, founder and chairman of Azul, said: "We are delighted to introduce the new ATR -600 series in Brazil and to be among the very first operators of the newest generation turboprops in the world."

According to Flightglobal's ACAS database Azul already operates eight ATR 72-200s, along with 32 Embraer E-190s/E-195s.
