Boeing has completed major assembly on the first set of wings for its 747-8 aircraft, which will be part of a freighter airframe.
The 747-8 will have a wing span of 68.5m (224ft 7in). Boeing says the newly-completed wing sections have a length of 41.2m.
Seventy-eight 747-8 freighters are on firm order, in addition to 28 examples of the passenger version.
