Swiss International Air Lines will début its first aircraft in Star Alliance colours on Sunday, when one of its BAe Avro RJ100s takes to the sky.

The aircraft (HB-IYU, pictured below) will be deployed on European routes ahead of Swiss's entry into the Lufthansa / United Airlines-led alliance from 1 April.

Under the terms of the group membership, each member airline is entitled to paint one of each aircraft type in alliance livery. Swiss is also painting the Star Alliance logo between the forward door and cockpit window on its fleet.
