Ruili Airlines has taken delivery of its first purchased Boeing 737-700 purchased directly from the manufacturer.

The aircraft, registered B-5829, is the first of eight orders and commitments for the variant ordered by the Kunming-based carrier, Boeing says. It also has commitments for six 737 Max aircraft.

"This is a momentous step forward for Ruili Airlines as we continue to enhance our fleet," says the airline’s president Ma Zhanwei. "We hope that the competitive advantages offered by the 737 will enable us to grow from a start-up airline to a driving force in China's aviation industry."

Flightglobal’s Ascend Fleets database shows that Ruili Airlines operates a Boeing 737-800 and three 737-700s.
