Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad Airways has signed a three-year deal to sponsor Chelsea Football Club.

The "seven figure" deal means that the airline will be a Platinum Sponsor and official international airline partner.

Etihad Airways’ chief executive, James Hogan, said: "The partnership with Chelsea will provide the airline with terrific exposure to a global audience.
